Buying a penthouse in Benalmádena

In Benalmádena the hillside does the work: the land climbs quickly from the sea to the village, so a penthouse at almost any height looks out over the bay. The offer is split between three areas: Benalmádena Pueblo and its approach through Monte Alto, with recent developments and far-reaching views on clear days; Benalmádena Costa, with penthouses facing the beach and close to Puerto Marina; and Torrequebrada, where many look onto the fairways of the golf course.

Penthouses here tend to be roomy: around 128 m² of built area, most often with three bedrooms, followed by two, generous terraces and, in duplexes, a private solarium. 53 of the 62 penthouses have the sea in view. They suit couples and families who want outdoor space without looking after a garden, and northern Europeans who spend the winter here. Before choosing, go up to the terrace at different times of day: on the hillside, sun, wind and privacy change a great deal.

From penthouses in the Pueblo and Monte Alto the beach is about ten minutes’ drive; those on the coast and in Torrequebrada keep you close to the promenade, the marina and the golf course. Always check that the terrace and solarium appear in the title deeds with their area, who is responsible for the waterproofing and whether the community allows awnings, pergolas or enclosures.
