Buying a townhouse in Manilva

Manilva is the last municipality on the Costa del Sol before the province of Cádiz and one of the most affordable markets on the western coast. Townhouses are a popular choice here: more space and terraces than an apartment, at prices well below Estepona or Marbella. The offer is spread across communities with shared pools on the hills above Puerto de la Duquesa —with views of the sea, Gibraltar and, on clear days, the coast of Africa—, beachside houses between La Duquesa and Sabinillas, and village houses in the old quarter of Manilva, surrounded by vineyards.

The typical townhouse has 147 m² of built area over two or three floors, a terrace or small garden and, usually, three bedrooms. Alongside terraced townhouses there are semi-detached homes —joined to just one neighbour—, which tend to have a little more land. Gated communities with gardens and a pool are the most sought after, for year-round living as well as holiday stays or letting.

From Manilva it is about ten minutes to Sotogrande, fifteen to Estepona and around half an hour to Gibraltar airport; Málaga airport is just over an hour away by motorway. Sabinillas has year-round services —supermarkets, schools, a health centre and a seafront promenade— and La Duquesa marina has restaurants and moorings.
