115 flats, from frontline beach studios to penthouses and duplexes with sea views in the upper part of the urbanisation, plus ground-floor homes with terraces in gated complexes, priced from €229,000.
Calahonda —also known as Sitio de Calahonda— is one of the largest urbanisations on the Costa del Sol and the western end of Mijas Costa, right next to Cabopino and Marbella. It stretches from the beach up into the hills, on both sides of the A-7, with apartment complexes, townhouses and villas among tree-lined streets. Flats fall into three bands: the frontline complexes by the sea; the centre, with shops, restaurants and supermarkets; and the upper part, quieter and with open views over the Mediterranean.
Most have two bedrooms and around 89 m² of built area, with a terrace; ground-floor units usually add a garden or a large terrace, and penthouses a solarium. 84 of the 115 are advertised with sea views. Many complexes are gated, with a communal pool and gardens, and quite a few are several decades old. Buyers include international residents who live here year-round and people looking for a second home by the beach or a flat for the winter months.
From Calahonda it is about fifteen minutes to central Marbella and the same to Fuengirola; Málaga airport is around thirty-five minutes away by motorway. To the west, already in Marbella, lie Cabopino marina and its dune beach, and there are several golf courses a few minutes’ drive away. The urbanisation keeps its shops and services open all year, which matters to those who live here out of season.

The lower part, near the A-7 and the sea, lets you walk to the beach and the shops; this is where the frontline complexes are. The upper part, in the hills, is quieter with open views, but the slopes mean using the car every day. The centre of the urbanisation sits in between, with supermarkets and restaurants close at hand. Tell us your priorities and we will send you flats in each area.
Ask the administrator for the latest meeting minutes and the certificate showing the community fees are paid up, and find out whether any special levies have been approved for work on façades, roofs, lifts or pools. Also check the condition of the flat’s wiring and plumbing, and whether any enclosed terraces have permission. At EVS we request this paperwork before you reserve.
