Apartment life in Marbella East feels different from Puerto Banús or the Golden Mile: low-rise complexes among the pines, with generous gardens and sandy beaches a stroll or a short drive away. Elviria has the largest choice, with complexes near the beach and others by the Santa María golf course; La Mairena, in the hills of the municipality of Ojén, and Cabopino, next to its marina, come next.
Three- and two-bedroom flats dominate, with around 124 m² of built area and large terraces; in the hillside communities, penthouses and garden apartments make the most of the views. 111 of the 214 have sea views. The area appeals to families, to northern European buyers who spend much of the year here and to retirees looking for calm with services nearby. When viewing, time the real walk to the beach and ask what the community fee covers: pools, gardens, a gym or security.
There are three settings: beachside complexes —Bahía de Marbella, Marbesa, Los Monteros or lower Elviria— let you do almost everything on foot; golf communities in Santa María, Río Real or Cabopino are quiet and very green; and hillside ones, such as Elviria Hills or La Mairena, add views and silence. From Elviria, central Marbella is about fifteen minutes away and Málaga airport just over half an hour.
